IC
Name: Oda Nobunaga, or more specifically, Oda Kipposhi
Canon: Fate/Grand Order
Canon Point: After Final Honnōji
Age: Kind of hard to pinpoint since he's based on his younger self and seems to be in his late-teens/early 20s, but the nature of Heroic Spirits makes him possibly older, at least in his late 40s. I'll be playing him on the assumption he's younger.
Appearance: four official images
Abilities:
Kipposhi is a Heroic Spirit, and is therefore generally more strong, durable, and physically capable than an ordinary human, since their bodies are designed to fight battles as proxies for human Masters. As far as comparing to other Heroic Spirits go, his statistical measurements put him above average, particularly when it comes to the strength of his Noble Phantasm, described further down. As an Avenger-class Heroic Spirit, he also gets the specific abilities of "Oblivion Correction" (just a fancy word for having extremely good memory) and the ability to replenish his own mana over time without the need of a Master.

Kipposhi has two notable personal skills in their moveset. Zehi mo Nashi ("inevitability") causes the fires of his prana (mana turned into plasma, basically) that surround him to increase his strength and ability dramatically, and spread in the area around him, but as a consequence also damage him. Mugen no Gotoku ("as if a dream") is a direct reference to the impossibility of Kipposhi's existence, and allows him to persist in fighting even if a mortal blow is dealt, basically allowing him to sometimes (but generally only once per battle) walk away from a situation that should have rightfully killed him.

His personal gear is the gatling arquebus he uses called the "Maou Gun". Because of its design, it's able to fire shots with impossible rapidness for a gun of its size and type, creating multiple volleys of fire. He can summon up to three "rows" of this gun, allowing him to tap into Nobunaga's famous rifleman formations. He also caries a sword, Souza Samaonji, but never uses it, treating it as a beautiful treasure he'd prefer to never draw, if it could ever be avoided.

His Noble Phantasm, Hajunhenjou (papiya metamorphosis, as in the Buddhist concept of metamorphosis), aka "Demon King of a Thousand Worlds", isn't a specific weapon but rather the very legend of Nobunaga's status as the "Demon King" itself, summoned given manifest and true form. Because it never actually existed and was formed only from legends surrounding him, he can't maintain it for very long, but it's a form that is truly demonic, and is powerful enough to destroy gods and "mysteries" (type-moon babble for stuff that's basically faith based assumptions). Using it is a tremendous mana burn for Kipposhi, and he only is able to summon it in absolute moments of desperation.

(Optional) Personality:
Kipposhi is a hot-blooded type to the core. He exudes an almost arrogant level of enthusiasm and sincerity, throwing himself into all situations headlong without paying much plan to long-term strategy, whether it's war or even interpersonal relationships. He's more of a 'think as you go' type, though he's obviously willing to pay head to people who are smarter than he is, too. While other forms of Nobunaga represent his historical cunning, this version leans heavily into the Nobunaga of his youth, hence both his name and being called the "Fool of Owari".

For Kipposhi, being a 'fool' doesn't mean being an idiot, strictly. He embraces the term as someone who is unpredictable, with bald-faced courage that defies conventionality. A fool throws people off their own game while building his own. A fool can even be charming, his earnestness granting him social graces he wouldn't normally get. It's a hell of a way to live, and in canon it often translates to him leaning into his own half-baked ideas pretty heavily. It winds up not working out for him most of the time, but part of his 'fool' persona also means accepting his defeats, so long as he enjoyed them.

But Kipposhi is not all vim and vigor. There's a certain melancholy that hangs over him. Largely that, given the nature of his Spirit Origin being but a fractured possibility of a whole person, he fully understands he's technically not supposed to exist, and treats his life as ephemeral as a result. But even beyond that, he carries with him some of the trauma of Nobunaga's younger days. The rejection of his family, the betrayal of many of his early vassals, and he winds up treating the idea of being stabbed in the back as both inevitable and possibly even necessity. He doesn't like talking about it, though, and will usually forcibly, if cheerily, change the subject to something more pleasant if confronted on it.

He also leans into probably the most defining personality trait Nobunaga had in history, the one he was most famous for; Ambition. For Kipposhi this ties into his hot-blooded nature mentioned before, as well. When Kipposhi forms a goal in his mind, he aims towards it with as much energy as he can offer, probably well more than it even deserves, and is dead-set determined to make it happen. This can be innocuous goals like becoming someone's friend, or it could be something like conquering an entire region and spreading his influence as the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven. It really changes based on the goal, but he definitely always has his aim set high.

As an Avenger Class Heroic Spirit, a particular goal is meant to take up most of Kipposhi's focus; that of revenge. Some Avengers have very vaguely defined objects of vengeance, others more greatly specific, but for Kipposhi he doesn't really seem to have... any. In fact, the aspect of his Saint Graph that is most focused on the task (the True Devil King Nobunaga, their final ascension) seems to actually frighten him on some level. It's as if he's aware of the goal, but unlike anything else he aims his ambition towards, he's hesitant to even pay thought to it, much less accept it. This probably has to do with the fact that the vengeance seems focused on his death, and what became of his legend as a result. Kipposhi doesn't quite seem ready to confront any of that, as mentioned earlier.

History:
If you want information on the historical figure Kipposhi represents, you can read that here, but for the sake of being succinct, I'll keep this specific to Kipposhi's role in Fate/Grand Order's story.

Kipposhi first appears in the story of Fate/Grand order during the Final Honnōji, the premise of which is multiple "versions" of Nobunaga vying for unifying conquest over an entire singularity, while each facing their inevitable end. Kipposhi is identified as the "Fool of Owari" (and briefly as the "Fool of Kai" because reasons, I guess), leading an army and being assisted by famed assassin Li Shuwen as his second (who was mostly just repaying the favor of being given food and lodging by Kipposhi's army). When he first arrives, realizing his army is outnumbered, he replicates the conditions of an old battle of his where he'd won with a similar disadvantage and attacks the player character's position from above the mountain range, while rain pours down.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you're the player), Nagao Kagetora manages to outflank Kipposhi's advance with a surprise attack of her own. Despite Li Shuwen managing to land a heavy blow on one of the player's retainers (Mori Nagayoshi), Kipposhi had no choice but to surrender, citing that he'd underestimated the other version of himself assisting the player. The foot-soldier version of Nobunaga still compliments him, saying, "Looks like you’re the one who took the good parts of me". Kipposhi's army is absorbed into the player's, and he insists on going into Suruga on the player's behalf.

Kipposhi is involved in the final battle against the True Demon King version of Nobunaga, assisting the player. He joins up alongside Hijikata Toshizou and Okita Souji (whom Kipposhi endlessly teases) in the battle, assuring them his fool's luck will pay off for them. Unfortunately, just as his forces are facing down Akechi Mitsuhide, the Demon King's gambit pays off, and Kipposhi is forced to rejoin her Saint Graph, fading from existence in the process, before even getting a proper chance to say goodbye to anyone...

NOTE: Kipposhi's gender is canonly listed as "?" in his profile and when directly asked about the matter by his niece in game, he gives a deliberately dodgy response. I am playing on the interpretation that Kipposhi, like the rest of the Nobunaga's in the game, is AFAB but is largely non-binary, leaning towards trans masc. This is why I use male pronouns for him.
